Pariksha Lite : a faster way to prepare better.
I’m pretty sure that you may have found yourself making some tough choices about which app to purge from your smartphone due to storage constraints. With apps telling you all about your friends’ activities to apps simply sending them a ‘Yo’, you’ve painstakingly built up a stellar collection of apps, that you’d hate to part with, but you’ve got no choice but to delete them.
At Pariksha, we understand that many of our users have to face this dilemma. So we decided to build a fast, light and powerful web application to deliver an app-like user experience.
What do you mean, ‘app like’?
Native apps i.e. apps from App Store or Play Store do things like work offline, look and feel like an app (as Google and Apple imagined them to be), show up on home screen and so on. Mobile Web never had these capabilities until now.
Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) bring features expected from a native app to the mobile web with the advantage of being accessible to anyone on the web. No more storage requirements, no more high processing needs! All you need is a browser, and ta-dah, access the app without hassle.
Users will now be able to use Pariksha.Co’s services, easily on the mobile browser and with no worries about their storage since the app is installed on their home screen. By ‘installed’ I mean: a shortcut to web app is added to the home screen. When the user taps on the shortcut, the web app will be loaded in a browser in full screen mode.
For a user, this means no more downloading app updates every week just for a bug fix or even for a new feature. As soon as our developers release a new feature, it is reflected on the web app. No prompts, no data use for downloads, users can now say goodbye to their app stores!
App on a browser? Does this mean similar load time as other websites? No. Service Workers help PWAs to be fast and offline. They can be programmed to intercept all the network requests and respond from cache even when the connection is slow or unavailable. This drastically reduces the number of requests from the server. Ignoring all the technicalities, even if you have a slow internet connection, Pariksha Lite provides the same immersive experience as always.
